The VIPOMAT II is a handling robot which is especially utilized for the production of covered boxes. In a typical FMC, Perrondi or Jagenberg production line, the unfinished boxes are set down on glue-backed covering paper manually or with the help of spotters. Especially in the area of luxury packages the quality of positioning plays a decisive role. Here, the VIPOMAT II sets completely new standards.

Two image processing cameras measure the outline of the cover paper exactly down to a few tenths of a millimeter. A linear axes system with servo drives then places the unfinished box onto the cover paper. The change to a new box type can be carried out within a minute. The productivity as well as the quality of the product is increased considerably.
